The oenology research group at The Department of Viticulture and Oenology, Stellenbosch University (under leadership of Prof Wessel du Toit) have embarked on a special 2018 Rosé wines project.
The oenology group will follow the ageing of these wines in terms of colour and other properties over the period of 18 months. Some of the wines will be assessed sensorially. The aim of this project is to investigate the factors affecting the colour and aroma development of South African Rosé wine over time.
In order for this project to go forward they will need as many different wines as they are able to get. If you are willing and able to assist them in this regard (by either donating or selling the wines), please contact Elsa Terblanche to arrange collection.
They require two bottles per wine initially, after which a select number of wines will be purchased in larger quantities. The department will also happily share the results with you.
