VinPro (SA)/Winetech Vineyard Practice evaluation 1999

Congratulations to the following winners in the various KWV districts:

Thank you to all the other entrants as well as the judges who contributed to the success of the competition.

PAARL

The winner is once again Henry van Reenen of Laborie Estate, Paarl, this time with a block of Pinot noir. Second is DP Burger of Montrose, Franschhoek and in the third place is Gerhard Steenkamp of Babylons Toren, Simondium.

ROBERTSON

Albert Cloete, a well-known entrant, of the farm Steenboksvlakte, McGregor, entered the winning block, which was Chardonnay. Second is Deon Brink of Rouxvale, Ashton. The third place went to Hugo Bruwer of the farm Sandrivier, Ashton.

ORANGE RIVER

Johnny van Rooyen of Leerkrans, Upington, won with a block of Colombar. The runner-up is Alwyn Schlebusch of Bull Hill, Hartswater and third is Viccie Bruwer of Wag-'n-bietjie, Douglas.



MALMESBURY

Nelius Louw of Rondomskrik, Malmesbury, was the winner with a block of Cabernet Sauvignon. Second was Jan Geldenhuys of the farm Papkuilsfontein, Malmesbury. The third place was awarded to Stoffel du Plessis of Uitvlug, Porterville.

STELLENBOSCH

Frans Snyman of Hartenberg Estate, Lynedoch is the winner with a block of Cabernet Sauvignon. Second is Dirkie Morkel of the farm Bellevue, Koelenhof. In the third place is Billy Visser of Klein Welmoed, Lynedoch.


OLIFANTS RIVER

Henta van Zyl of the farm Karoovlakte, Vredendal, won with a block of Chenin blanc. In the second place is Johan du Toit of Eureka, Vredendal. The third place goes to Niel du Toit, of the farm Aandrus, Trawal.



LITTLE KAROO

The winning block, of the Colombar cultivar, was entered by Bertus le Roux of Kleindoornrivier, Barrydale. The second place was awarded to Boets Nel of Die Krans, Calitzdorp, and in the third place is Jasper Theron of the farm Onrust, Calitzdorp.

WORCESTER

Hennie du Preez (Jr) of Du Preez Estate, Rawsonville, entered this year's winner, a block of Chardonnay. Second is Willem du Toit, Rustfontein, Slanghoek, with last year's winner, Aling Stofberg of Alartskraal, Rawsonville, in the third place.
