AGT alumni and sponsors gathered for the launch of the album “A Decade of Music – Celebrating 10 Years of Agri’s Got Talent” in Paarl, on 5 July 2024. The album’s release marked a significant milestone in the Agri’s Got Talent (AGT) project, a unique initiative that has showcased and uplifted the incredible talent of agricultural workers across the country for more than a decade.

The live recordings from the AGT 10 Year Reunion Show, hosted in November 2023, was captured on the album. The Reunion Show brought together a diverse array of past winners and standout performers to honour ten years of musical excellence and community spirit. Due to costs it was not possible to feature the complete show on the album, therefore the album focused on previous AGT winners.

The track list include:

  • “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” by Jasmine Bones (Winner 2022)
  •  “Versace on the Floor” by Armando Baartman (Winner 2015)

    Pypers, Magdalene Philander, Faith Nogemane

Frieda van den Heever, celebrated artist and Agri’s Got Talent’s voice coach, has been the guiding force behind the project since its inception in 2014. Her dedication and expertise have been instrumental in shaping the voices of the many talented individuals who have graced the AGT stage. Recording engineer Francois van der Merwe ensured that the essence of each live performance was captured with impeccable quality, allowing listeners to relive the magic of the reunion show in every track.

In celebration of the ten-year anniversary of Agri’s Got Talent, representatives from some of the sponsoring industries shared their thoughts on this milestone:
Jacomien de Klerk, General Manager at the Citrus Academy, reflected on the program’s impact, saying, “As a great song-writer once said ‘In the face of our differences, music offers the chords that bring us together’. Over the last ten years, Agri’s Got Talent has proven this again and again, bringing to the people of the fruit industry opportunities for finding common ground and shared joy. This album is a testament and celebration of this achievement, and of the great talent of all the people living in this wonderful country.”

Echoing this sentiment, Anton Rabe, Hortgro’s Managing Director, remarked, “Agri’s Got Talent is empowerment and people development in action. Listen and enjoy – Agriculture is about people, and this album is the result of talented and dedicated people that just needed a platform to showcase their incredible talents.”

Wilton September, Transformation Manager at SATI, also expressed pride in the initiative: “SATI is proud to be part of this industry initiative which is an important showcase of agriworkers’ talents. Huge congratulations on releasing the 10 year reunion album!”
