The Western Cape Department of Agriculture has launched an exciting new video clip drive, called “Gooi-Agri”, where agricultural stakeholders (farmers, agricultural businesses, industry organisations, etc.) can showcase their smart-agricultural actions or projects. Those involved with agriculture in the Western Cape can compete with the best and brightest in the world; the Department wants to make sure their ideas and actions, displaying local innovation and tenacity, are available to excite others and make agriculture even smarter.
A new theme relating to agriculture will be announced every month, but because the first theme is particularly important and relevant, it will run until 31 May 2018. Entries should show, for example, what stakeholders are doing to combat the drought and save water, which innovative methods have been implemented to farm productively with less water, and how water-saving measures are being introduced during the processing of raw products. The goal of Gooi-Agri videos is to tell stories that can be used to inspire and motivate others.
Participants do not have to be video experts – the idea behind the video-clip is much more important than the technical quality of it. The only requirement is that video clips should be compelling and concise.
Visit www.elsenburg.com/water to view the guidelines and get more information. Participants can enter online at http://www.elsenburg.com/gooiagri/ or send their video clips via WhatsApp to 062 044 9061. The best video clips will be featured on the Gooi-Agri website and shared via various media platforms. Kindly contact Giselle Terblanche at firstname.lastname@example.org with any enquiries.
