HKTDC: Introducing the convention and exhibition industry subsidy scheme

by | Jun 29, 2020 | Wineland

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is offering a Turnkey Pavilion Economy package for South African producers in November 2020, consisting of a counter with a shared meeting and storage area, two bar stools and two shelves.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government announced the launch of the Convention and Exhibition Industry Subsidy Scheme on 21 February by which any company – local or overseas, large or small – will be subsidised 50% of its participation fee, subject to a cap of HK$10 000 (R23 563) and this will only apply to the fairs organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

The HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair 2020 is covered under this subsidy scheme. The subsidy will be deducted from the participation fee directly after all discount is calculated.

Final Booth Rental after government subsidy will be: US$2090 (R38180) per 4.5 sqm with turnkey counter.

An additional 5% early bird loyalty discount will be offered to 2019 Wine Fair exhibitors.

The early-bird application deadline is 30 June 2020 and application deadline will be 31 July 2020.

The new subsidy scheme offers a good incentive to South African wineries during this difficult time.
