Liquor Licence fees have increased
Western Cape Liquor licence holders are reminded to ensure their licences are renewed before 31 December 2017 in order for them to be valid in 2018. Even if a licensee didn’t receive a yearly notice, the responsibility is still on him or her to pay the prescribed fees before or on 31 December or the licence will lapse and they will incur late payment penalties. All payments should be made to the Western Cape Liquor Authority bank account.
Annual or biennial renewals
Licensees can now renew their licences annually or every two years. The amended Regulation 30 of the Western Cape Liquor Regulations of 2017 determines that a licensee who wishes to subscribe to a biennial renewal cycle must lodge a Form 21B notice with the Authority no later than 30 November of the year in which an annual renewal notice was issued. Lodging the notice before 30 November 2017 will therefore ensure that liquor licences renewed on or before 31 December 2017 will be valid for 2018 and 2019.
