Montagu Wine Cellar was established in 1941 with the help of the iconic Monis brothers, producing Muscadel and Marsala. Monis was later sold to a company today known as Distell.
This cellar recently officially celebrated their 75th anniversary in the Maanstoor where Erhard Wolf from Distell presented a Commemorative Trophy to the cellar and revealed a Member Memorial plaque. During the evening of celebrations members revealed interesting facts and antidotes of the cellars’ history. To honour the cellar’s proud roots as a Muscadel producer, guests were served only Muscadel.
