Stronger Together Workshops: Free specialised advice & support for SA agri-businesses

by | Oct 16, 2018 | Blog, Lifestyle, News

Stronger Together is a business-led multi-stakeholder collaborative initiative that has been working in the UK since 2011, in association with the UK’s 9 major supermarkets, to support businesses to reduce the risk of forced labour within their business and supply chains in the UK and globally.

In partnership with the Wine and Agricultural Ethical Trade Association (WIETA) and in close alliance with the Sustainability Initiative South Africa (SIZA), Stronger Together has launched a new specialised industry programme to inform and equip South African agri-businesses to tackle forced labour and labour exploitation. This beyond the audit programme provides clear steps that businesses can implement that help to meet WIETA and SIZA audit control points and access international markets, where transparency in supply chain legislation increasingly requires companies to demonstrate the actions they are taking to mitigate the risk of forced labour in their business operations and supply chains.

Alko, BerryWorld, Co-op, Global Fruit Point, Greenyard Fresh, Marks and Spencer, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Systembolaget, Tesco, Vinmonopolet and Waitrose are the international business partners of the Stronger Together South Africa programme and actively contribute to its content and development. All of us highly recommend that you engage with the programme by Attending or hosting a free interactive training workshop ‘Tackling Forced Labour in agri-business South Africa’ delivered by expert facilitators in Afrikaans and English; find out more and book a workshop online or contact our South Africa programme manager to discuss the opportunity of hosting a free training workshop for your suppliers and employees:
