Below you’ll find the results from Vititec’s annual new clone and cultivar tasting. Vititec, trusted producers of high-quality clonal plant material, invited several experienced winemakers and viticulturists to pit these new emerging cultivars against each other with the help of a unique tasting sheet. These experienced winemakers and viticulturists included Charles Hopkins (De Grendel Wines), Johan Malan, Rosa Kruger, Francois Viljoen, Conrad Schutte, Louis Strydom (Ernie Els Wines), Johan Wiese, Ettiene Terblanche, Schalk van der Merwe (Merwida Wines) and Nico Spreeth. These are the average wine scores from 2016 – 2018.
