Wines that sparkle

A total of 25 countries took part in the 14th Effervescents du Monde, an international competition of the world’s best sparkling wines. The judges awarded 179 of the 540 wines entered with medals – 34 gold and 145 silver. Boschendal Méthode Cap Classique Chardonnay/Pinot Noir/Brut (DGB) received a gold medal and was the only South African wine to be featured on the Top 10. Other South African wines awarded silver medals were:
- Boschendal Méthode Cap Classique Brut Rosé (DGB)
- Guinevere Pinot Noir Chardonnay Brut 2007 (Namaqua Wines)
- Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut 2015 (Simonsig)
