Johannes came to WineLand after years in scholarly publishing, bringing with him an enduring belief that words should actually mean something. As a journalist, he writes across the WineLand platforms and helps curate the industry news and information our readers need. He also plays an important role in compiling the annual South African Wine Industry Directory.

Originally from the North-West and later Pretoria, Johannes now lives in Paarl with his wife and two children, where the wine industry provides him with an apparently inexhaustible supply of stories, interesting people and good wine.
