The results from the 24th Concours Mondial de Bruxelles once again show that South African wines can compete with the very best wines in the world. The 2017 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles was held in Spain from 5 - 7 May, with an international panel of 320 judges and 9 080 wines from 50 countries which competed for grand gold, gold, and silver medals.

Bell Tower 2012 (Asara Wine Estate), Beyerskloof Synergy 2015 (Rouseu Wijnen & Likeuren), Boschendal Lanoy 2015 (DGB PTY Ltd), Five Generations Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 (Cederberg Private Cellar), Groote Kaap Viognier 2016 (Spier Wines), Saronsberg Full Circle 2015 (Saronsberg Cellar), Simonsig Cuvée Royale 2012 (Simonsig Estate), Simonsig Pinotage Redhill 2014 (Simonsig Estate), Spier 21 Gables Pinotage 2014 (Spier Wines) and Stellenzicht Golden Triangle Pinotage 2014 (Rouseu Wijnen & Likeuren) all won gold.

Although most of these cellars also won at least one silver medal, a special mention should go to DGB with 11 silver medals. Four of these went to Boschendal Wines for the Sommelier Selection Chenin Blanc 2016, the Sommelier Selection Pinotage 2015, the The Pavillion Chenin Blanc 2016, and the The Pavillion Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2015.
