WC Minister of Agriculture welcomes Christo van der Rheede as executive director of Agri SA

Western Cape Minister of Agriculture Ivan Meyer has welcomed the announcement by the Board of Agri SA to appoint Christo van Rheede as its new executive director.
While holding the post of deputy executive director for the past five years, Van der Rheede has established himself as a respected leader within the agricultural sector.
“Three words come to mind when I think of Christo van der Rheede,” says Minister Meyer, “Competent, committed and caring.”
The Minister says van der Rheede’s passion and commitment to the support and development of both commercial and smallholder farmers resonates well with the Agriculture department’s key priorities. His appointment comes at a time when the agricultural sector is poised to lead the post-Covid-19 recovery of South Africa.
