Meridian Wine Merchants welcomes Great Heart wines to its portfolio from 1 June 2022.
In the pursuit to find a sustainable way to realise a mechanism for equity and meaningful transformation, Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines, known for their multi-award winning Leeu Passant and Mullineux wines, established this staff empowerment project aimed at improving the livelihood of those who work for the company as well as their families.
The company is collectively owned by the staff of Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines and profits from sales of all Great Heart wines go directly to the staff who are the shareholders of the company.
The Great Heart wines are grown and produced in the Mullineux & Leeu vineyards and cellars, by winemaker Gynore Fredericks, with the same attention to detail the team follows in everything they do, resulting in wines with a natural intensity, complexity and a true sense of place reflecting the characteristics of the region, as well as those who live and work there.
With extensive industry relationships and over two decades sales, marketing and distribution experience, Meridian Wine Merchants is well placed to represent this collection of premium wines.

“Our mission is to remain relevant to the market and to increase the demand of the brands in our portfolio by providing specialised premium wine sales and marketing solutions, in addition to innovative trade strategies,” says Meridian Wine Merchants managing director, Shane Allchin.
“This 100% staff empowered range adds a great dimension to our portfolio and we are very proud to present these exceptional wines to our customers.”
“We look forward to growing the national footprint of Great Heart and further entrenching this fine wine brand in the market at the hands of our knowledgeable and committed sales team.“ says Shane.
