Entries open for 2020 Perold Absa Cape Blend Competition

Over the past few years the Cape Blend wine category has become a sought-after and dynamic wine style. Winemakers strive to create exceptional combinations with Pinotage as the centrepiece. The annual Perold Absa Cape Blend Competition aspire to encourage cellar masters to reach greater heights in this unique South African winemaking style.
The entry deadline for this year’s competition is set at 17 July 2020 and the judging will take place on 25-26 of August.
Since 2011 the Perold Cape Blend Competition has done much in helping to establish a respected field of ambassadors for the South African winelands on the world stage. Winemakers continue to push the envelope in developing wines that include Pinotage as the major component – top quality, interesting blends with the kind of complexity, balance and ageability that make for top wines that are truly South African.
